A closer look
Make valid JSON easier to inspect with two-space or four-space indentation. Paste an API response, configuration sample or other JSON value, choose the indentation and run the formatter. You can copy the result or download it as a .json file. The tool parses and serializes the input in your browser; it is not a text-only spacing operation. Invalid JSON is rejected rather than repaired, and values such as very large unquoted integers can change through JavaScript number parsing.
A practical example
Paste {"name":"Sample","items":[1,2],"active":true}, choose 2 spaces and run the tool. Review the expanded object and array, then copy the result or download the .json file.
Common questions
Why does the formatter reject comments or a trailing comma?
It expects standard JSON syntax, not JavaScript object literals or JSON with comments. Use double quotes for property names and string values, remove comments and trailing commas, and check matching braces. The tool does not guess how to repair invalid input.
Will every value remain exactly the same?
Not necessarily. JavaScript parsing can round integers outside its safe range, and duplicate object keys do not remain as separate entries. Keep identifiers as quoted strings when your data format permits. Input is limited to 1,000,000 characters; retain the original when exact representation matters.
How to use this tool
- Enter your content or adjust the generator settings.
- Choose the available options, then select Run tool.
- Review the result and download or copy it. Keep your original.
Before you start
Up to 1,000,000 input characters. Base64 and escaping are encodings, not encryption. Hashes cannot be reversed. JavaScript JSON parsing can round integers beyond its safe integer range.
Quick answers
Does this tool send my input to a server?
No. Your input is processed in this browser. Download the result before closing the page; your workspace is not saved to an account.
What should I check before using the result?
Keep the original. Check the output’s content, layout, quality and format before sharing it or using it for important work. Review the limitations above for details.
