Preserve types and structure
Formatting makes JSON readable but does not validate an API schema. Large numeric identifiers may lose precision, so represent them as strings. Structural diffs compare values and array positions; TypeScript inference from one example still requires review for optional fields.
Choose the right encoding layer
URL components, query strings, JSON strings and HTML text require different escaping rules. For example, + represents space in query-form parsing but remains + in URI-component decoding. Decode Base64 to text only for UTF-8 text; binary data belongs in the file decoder.
Keep decoding separate from authentication
A decoded JWT is unverified input, not proof of authorization. A file digest needs a trusted expected value, while HMAC also depends on a shared secret and exact byte encoding. Use dummy keys in examples and do not place production tokens in shared screenshots.
